Local Membership is restricted to persons who reside permanently within 12 miles of the Parish Church of St. Mary’s, Builth Wells. We have a limited number of country members whom for historical reasons we refer to as Special Members. Visitors are welcome throughout the year.

Membership is available to persons who reside permanently within 12miles of the Parish Church of St. Mary’s, Builth Wells.

If you wish to join or rejoin collect an Application Form from Nibletts or Conti’s and follow the instructions on the form.

Salmon        Full : £34      OAP or RDP :  £17      Junior : £17

Trout            Full : £20      OAP or RDP :  £10      Junior : £5

There are a limited number of Season Permits for Llyn Alarch available to members.

Country Membership / Specials

We have three categories of Country Members – Salmon, Trout and Coarse. The Salmon category may fish for all species in season, the Trout category for Trout and Coarse fish, and the Coarse category may only fish the Club’s water during the open season for Coarse fish. Membership is active up to the notice of renewal shortly after the AGM, which is held in mid-January.

The current subscriptions are :-

Salmon £90.00; Trout £45.00; Coarse £35.00

We have a waiting list for Salmon and Trout but not for Coarse Fishing.

Visitors

All visitors over the age of 11 must have a current rod licence sold by the Post Office. Special rates for juniors (12-16 inclusive) and OAPs. Everyone must abide by the EA rules and the Club rules. Please note that spinning for trout is forbidden at any time and maggots may not be used before the 1st of October and after the last day of February. Note that some stretches of the river are Fly-only at some times of the year. You may obtain a map from the permit sellers detailing the boundaries and Fly-only stretches or from this site.

The Wye and Irfon both contain coarse and game fish and Llyn Alarch contains coarse fish with some brown trout

3 day Salmon £35.00

Coarse – 1 day – £15.00

1 day Junior Coarse – £3.00 up to age 15 inclusive

A reduced charge for river coarse fishing (£8 per day) is available from 1st Oct to end of February.

Coarse fishing is permitted from 16th June to the end of September buying a trout permit.

Maggot fishing only permitted from Ist October to the end of February.

Llyn Alarch Coarse Fishery

Day permits available at Contis Newsagents in Builth Wells for Visitors and Members

Adults £10.00 Juniors £4.50 (up to 15 inclusive)

No charge for 10 year-olds and younger.

Juniors and 10 year-olds and younger must be accompanied by a competent adult member of the club. If the adult is not a member they can obtain a day ticket from Contis Newsagents in Builth Wells.
